US General Election: Harris secured $200 million in one week

US general election campaign enters in 100 days period to elect upcoming American president. After Biden’s withdrawal from re-election race, Kamala Harris has secured a huge influx in terms of donations.

As Harris has gained support from leading Democratic leaders, it also help her secure $200 million for presidential campaign. 

According to Harris’ deputy campaign manager, Rob Flaherty 

“In the week since we got started, Kamala Harris has raised $200 million dollars. 66% of that is from new donors. We’ve signed up 170,000 new volunteers.”

Kamal Harris is expected to become nominee of Democratic party for the November’s presidential election. Harris’ presumptive potential as a nominee and increased support from Democrats is helping her to attract more electoral support. President Joe Biden, former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are among top Democratic leaders who’re supporting Harris.

Democratic party will hold an online voting event in August which will probably result into Harris’s official nomination for the US general election.
